Due to the reduced temperature difference between the ejected air-gas mixture and the purely compressed ambient air, the probability of contrail formation drops dramatically. Such turbofan engines are specifically used in the military field so that the fighter jets and bombers can approach enemy targets without early attracting attention due to a thick contrail.
On the other hand, various fine dusts are specifically sprayed for military purposes in order to create a camouflage through artificial fogging against the enemy air defense. This effect can be seen very well at air shows.
