Canada and Greenland have immeasurable and seemingly inexhaustible reserves of freshwater. In addition, the U.S. would gain the right to claim Arctic airspace, freshwater reserves, other valuable minerals, and fishing grounds on a scale equivalent to Russia's.
These states benefit from the accumulation of pure freshwater in glaciers and its seasonal rotation, along with polar climates and jet streams.
Control over these water reserves and airspace is essential for the unimpeded transport of water to two key industries in the U.S.:
- Oil, gas, and condensate extraction from deep, hard rock using nuclear fracking.
- Large-scale industrial agriculture and food production. Take a bird's-eye view of the US with a real satellite imagery and an interactive world map to see the scale of these two industries in the US.
Since the 1960s, water has been artificially channeled to these industries as rainfall by measures of climate control, causing artificial extreme weather events and artificial climate change.
For the US to freely implement climate control for necessary military and economic objectives on a global scale, it needs to not only use these airspaces under NATO but also fully own them. Otherwise, this dominance could be sold to China, or transformed into a tool of political and economic blackmail against the US, after possible political change in Europe.
In the long term, for the US to overcome its geographical disadvantage of being far from Asia, Europe and Africa behind the oceans, it needs to gain air, sea, and land control up to the poles, which is only possible by force and war.
Trump knows very well what he wants and why, and what he says is true from the US perspective, but the calculations made at home mostly don't match the reality in the market.

"THE U.S. IS PREPARING FOR WAR WITH CHINA"
— WORLD AT WAR (@World_At_War_6) January 7, 2026
Former NATO general and retired French military officer Michel Yakovleff reportedly stated that if U.S. President Donald Trump attempts to annex Greenland, Europeans must be prepared to defend it, potentially even through military confrontation.
This statement is one of the strangest I have heard in a long time.
I don't think Officer Michel Yakovleff understands the time period we are in.
It is highly likely that within 18-24 months the U.S. will be facing a conflict with China.
Control over Greenland ensures dominance over the GIUK Gap, a strategic maritime gateway that Russian naval vessels and submarines must pass through to reach the Atlantic Ocean.
The U.S. has expressed concern that Denmark is not spending enough to safeguard the territory's security.
The island also contains some of the world's largest deposits of rare earth elements essential for high-tech sectors, EVs, and defense technology currently dominated by China.
For the U.S, it is about gaining control of important infrastructure and securing important raw materials needed in the event of war, when American industry will be in full swing.
This means that Venezuela, Cuba, Greenland and Iran will have to pay the price for what is to come.

Trump wants to acquire Greenland to secure the Western hemisphere…

It’s position in the northern Atlantic would help secure the arctic, acting opposite Alaska in the northern Pacific.

We have moved from a cold water and airspace war, which has been ongoing since 1945, to a hot water war, and everyone needs to be aware of this. Since the 1970s, or at the latest since 1991, Eurepean & Turkey's airspace has been exploited by the USA by applying climate control.
It is now inevitable, that those, who still demand sovereignty in their skies, should lift their heads and observe the practices taking place high above them.
